Dear Reader,

almost pregnant is a very personal encounter of our fertility treatments and adoption journey. I am not a so-called 'expert' I am merely sharing with you what I have personally experienced with infertility and adoption.

I have walked this road and I wanted to share my story and tell other people what I wish somebody had told us 10 years ago!  If you are in the middle of in-vitro fertilization, if you have fertility problems or if you are contemplating adoption or going through the adoption process or maybe even contemplating abortion; Please know that you are not alone.  Thousands are suffering with you and I hope that this book will bring some light to an already dark situation.

The bad news?  It is not an easy road.  The good news?  If you equip yourself with knowledge and if you know what to expect, it certainly makes things easier - that's where almost pregnant can make all the difference! If you feel that every single door has been shut in your face and you are sick of people staring at you with their pitiful looks and talking behind their hands at stork teas, parties or family dinners; then this book is for you!

I thank my God, my family, my sister and my friends (they know who they are) for their love, encouragement and support: emotionally, spiritually and financially. I also want to give a big shout-out to N & K (this book is also a tribute to you) and our parents: Thank you for your prayers and love, it is an honour to have you in our lives!

To Sam: To me you are the personification of hope. Thanks for making me a better person and that I can learn so much from you. I was made for you! Mommy loves you to the moon and back (and then some.)

To my husband John:   Thank you for keeping on believing in our miracle – even when everybody else stopped (and some people thought we were crazy!) Your companionship and support made this journey bearable.  I love you! (Don't work so hard!)

With much love and indescribable thankfulness for God's outrageous grace,
